When you understand and implement these ten C's you will contribute to a winning team

A buzzword in business for at least the last decade has been all about Team. We've all heard ito Team!

Do you think that it is all about team?

If you said agree...then you are off the mark!

A fantastic trainer and speaker, Dan Clark gives a speech on being part of a team. This article is about his message and adapated for your Monavie business.

It's about you. It is not about your Monavie team. Remember that every team loses at some point. Are there companies going bankrupt as I write this post and as you read it? Yes, and each one has a team. It's not all about team. Teams are defeated all the time.

Interestingly enough, we've all heard the phrase that there is no "I" in team. This is true if you are in a spelling bee. If you want to get after a spelling contest then here we go. True, there is no "I" in team however there are two "I's" in winning. The first "I": Independent and Individual Preparation which includes commitments to: Change, Cause, Confidence, Clarity, Chemistry, Character and Consistency.

Let me break down the second "I": Interdependent Collaboration which is loyalty to: Cohesion, Conclusion and Contribution. In order to establish a successful Monavie team you need to commit to these ten C's.

Yes, you are right, there is no "I" in team as they don't give Super Bowl rings out one at a time. If you want to build a prosperous Monavie team then you've got to have the most "I" players on your team. The players that are dedicated to Independent and Individual Preparation along with Interdependent Collaboration.

Are you an "I" player? Are you the best that YOU can be? When we begin to rely on others more than on ourselves, we relinquish power to become more than we already are, to rise to the occasion and contribute to the win. We all must take personal responsibility for the good of the team.

The movie, "Miracle" is the story of the 1980 US Men's Olympic Hockey team. Head coach Herb Brooks tries out a group of young men to try out for the team. In one scene, he cuts many of the "best" players from the team. The head of the Olympic committee confronts him and ask him, "What in the world are you doing? Why are you cutting all of the best players?" Coach Brooks explains, "I can't win with the best players, I can only win with the right players." The right players have all of the ten C's while the best players only have three or four. When all was said and done, this team goes onto to win the Olympic Gold Medal.

Independent and Individual Preparation. Here's what you need to ask, are you the best that you can possibly be? I'm not talking about "exceeding your potential." No one can exceed their potential. Hang around people that inspire us to become more than who we already are. Not to exceed our potential but to exceed expectations! This is what happens when we stretch and exceed our capacity from the inside out. Become all that YOU can be in order to help the entire team.

Be the best that you can be by exceeding other people's expectations with your Monavie business.

Why? Why are you on the team that you are on right now? Why? Why are you spending time reading this article? Once we figure out the why, within a team concept, then figuring out the 'how to' becomes obvious and easy to execute.

If you want to play on a winning team, it is your responsibility to look on the inside and make sure that you are doing everything you know how to do to make sure that you are the best that you can be. Physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially, socially and most importantly with your family. If you get your act together and live by these ten C's then you will win in Monavie.

Clarity - Likes attract likes - the law of attraction.

Character - It's what you do when no one is around that matters.

Confidence - This basically mind memory. You've done it so many times that you don't question your ability.

Consistency - The muscle memory that comes from perfect practice.

Change - Life isn't what happens it's how you respond to it.

Cause - Answer the why. Then figuring out the how-to is simple.

Chemistry - It's not what you dot's who you do it with.

The second "I" in winning represents the last three C's of the ten.

Contribution - Making everyone else around you better.

Cohesion - Making sure that when people leave you they say, "I like you best, I want to see you again."

Conclusion - Focus, finish and close the deal.

When you understand and implement these ten C's you will contribute to a winning team, create personal value and always have security with Monavie and your life.

I was gasping. I could hardly breathe. That's when I knew it was time to take action

After more than four decades on the football field with some of the nation's biggest and toughest men, former NFL player and coach Monte Clark was nearly sidelined by a little-known medical condition.

Clark, age 69, was diagnosed five years ago with Alpha1-Anti-trypsin (AAT) deficiency, a genetically linked disorder also known as Alpha-1 or hereditary emphysema. An estimated 100,000 people in the U.S. have Alpha-1 and up to 95 percent are undiagnosed.1 The condition is caused by a reduction or lack of the blood protein AAT in the lungs.

When a simple, inexpensive blood test revealed that Clark had Alpha-1, he had only recently completed chemotherapy to combat Waldenstrom's disease, a cancer of the immune system. He wasn't ready for more bad news about his health.

"I didn't want to hear it," Clark said. "I avoided my doctor's treatment recommendation and figured the diagnosis was something I could deal with down the line, if I had to."

In his NFL career, Clark had played through injuries and earned a tough reputation, as well as three Super Bowl rings and a record for the winningest season in NFL history working with former Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula. He was used to physical adversity.

"When I continued to have trouble with chronic shortness of breath, I thought I could handle it," said Clark. "But Alpha-1 was making this old footballer winded just walking up the stairs."

It took an innocent comment made by his granddaughter during an outing at his Michigan lakefront home to convince Clark that his increasingly labored breathing was serious enough that he needed medical help.

"I was reaching down to untie a rope from our boat and she said, 'Grandpa, what are you blowing on?' I wasn't blowing; I was gasping. I could hardly breathe. That's when I knew it was time to take action," Clark said.

Soon after, Clark attended an Alpha-1 Foundation seminar on AAT deficiency and learned more about the disease and its symptoms by meeting doctors and other health care professionals and people who have the condition. He learned that the shortness of breath and wheezing he had experienced were just two of the symptoms that can indicate Alpha-1. According to the American Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society, other symptoms and conditions that can indicate or lead to hereditary emphysema include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), family history of emphysema/COPD, liver disease or panniculitis, asthma that doesn't respond well to medication and liver disease with an unknown cause.

"For anyone with this diagnosis, I recommend talking with an expert and fellow Alphas," Clark said. "By opening myself up to others, I found the optimism I'd always had on the football field. I was finally able to do something about my condition."

"Early detection is important," said Clark's pulmonologist, Steven Gay, M.D., of the University of Michigan Medical Center. "Alpha-1 can be accelerated by lifestyle factors, including smoking, and cannot be reversed once it causes deterioration in the lungs. But many Alpha patients can enjoy a full and active lifestyle with proper diagnosis and treatment."

Clark attests to that fact. "I'm able to do most things and I feel good," he said. "I've realized that the best approach to any chronic disease is to face it head-on with an attitude of hope and perseverance. I have always said that adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it."

was OK with it

It probably couldn have ended any other way for these Green Bay Packers.

With the fast start, the wave of injuries, the resilience, and somehow hanging on through the game darkest moments. It was all so familiar, and so fitting. Just as the story of their regular season went, so too did their Super Bowl. And when it was over, there they were, still standing, still breathing and somehow having persevered once again, all the way to the big confetti shower at midfield.

And not one single Packer seemed to miss the symmetry.

he Super Bowl was the way our whole season was in one win,?Green Bay linebacker Desmond Bishop said. ps, downs, roller coaster rides, people getting hurt, and a momentum swing. We showed resilience again. We just kept fighting, and stayed as one.?

The Packers didn do much the easy way this season. For a team that never trailed by more than seven points in any game, it still seemed like one long, uphill climb. But look where it led. To the mountaintop experience in the NFL.

Green Bay 31-25 win over Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV will never be remembered as one of the classics in this now 45-game series. There were too many dropped passes, too many turnovers by the Steelers and too many moments when neither team seemed to want to make the game its own.

But it was compelling theater all the same, if only because we got to watch a Green Bay team will itself to victory, flinching but never breaking in the face of injuries, mistakes and a Steelers team that appeared destined to mount the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history (from 18 points down, at 21-3, in the second quarter).

The Packers lost cornerback and team leader Charles Woodson to a broken collarbone late in the first half. Valuable veteran receiver Donald Driver went down with a bad ankle in the first quarter and play-making rookie cornerback Sam Shields hurt his shoulder and was out of the game for a significant portion of the second half. The secondary situation got even worse when safety Nick Collins headed to the locker room in need of an IV just before the half.

The Packers just simply played on, plugging in players and fighting through the urge to panic. For the team that lost 15 players to injured reserve and got unexpected but key contributions from some unsung sections of its roster, the pattern was nearly ingrained in its DNA at this point.

hat the way it has been the whole year,?Green Bay defensive coordinator Dom Capers said. hat one of the most gratifying things about this team, because nobody is used as an excuse. When guys have gone down, we come in and say, ho got it to win and who going to go in there and play??The guys we put in there have made big-time plays for us.?

It has been this way for these Packers since Week 1 of the regular season, when they beat the Eagles in Philadelphia in their opener despite losing both lead running back Ryan Grant (ankle) and defensive tackle Justin Harrell (knee) to season-ending injuries. Green Bay has been fighting a losing battle with its own injury list ever since.

ust like our season, a lot of adversity,?said Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the game MVP for his 304-yard, three-touchdown performance in his Super Bowl debut. uys just stepped up. Sam [Shields] was down. Charles [Woodson] was down. Donald [Driver] was down. Jordy Nelson has a huge game. Jarrett Bush has an interception. That the story of our season. A lot of high-character guys whoe stepped up, played huge roles for us, and now wee sitting here as Super Bowl champs.?

More than anything, the loss of Woodson seemed to stun the Packers initially. Playing without him in the third quarter, Green Bay defense played hesitantly and was put back on its heels by a Steelers team that seized the momentum and cut the Packers lead to 21-17.

hen [Woodson] went down, it kind of seemed unreal,?Packers defensive end Cullen Jenkins said. e been so solid for us, and has always been available for us. You just felt for him. I felt so bad for him, because he has fought so hard to get to this moment. I just didn want the opportunity to slip away because we didn have him. We really tried to make sure everybody stepped up so we could get him that ring.?

Woodson at halftime tried to speak to his teammates, inspiring them to continue the fight. But he couldn get any words out, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said.

t affected everybody just to see how emotional he was at halftime,?McCarthy said. e asked to call up the team briefly and he couldn even talk. But it was great to see the way everybody responded. And that why this is the ultimate team game.?

Though their ranks were thinned, the Packers responded in any number of ways. There were the two long, fourth-quarter scoring drives (eight plays, 55 yards and a touchdown; 10 plays, 75 yards and a field goal) that Rodgers executed. The key third-and-10 completions to Nelson (38 yards) and Greg Jennings (31 yards) that served as the centerpieces of those marches. And the vital forced fumble on the first play of the fourth quarter, when linebacker Clay Matthews separated running Rashard Mendenhall from the ball at the Packers 36, turning the tide just as Pittsburgh seemed poised to erase a 21-17 Green Bay lead.

And finally there was the Packers defense in the game final meaningful drive, facing off against two-time Super Bowl winner Ben Roethlisberger with a six-point lead and 1:59 remaining. The Steelers had 87 yards to cover and only one timeout remaining, but who among us would have been willing to bet against Big Ben in that situation?

But the Packers held after just one Pittsburgh first down, and once Roethlisberger fourth-and-five pass to Mike Wallace was ruled incomplete with 49 seconds to go, Green Bay became just the second No. 6 seed to win a Super Bowl (joining the 2005 Steelers) and just the third club to lose as many as six games in the regular season and still finish as Super Bowl champion (the 2007 Giants and 1988 49ers were 10-6 as well).

he guys are resilient,?said Capers, a 25-year NFL coaching veteran, moments after winning his first Super Bowl ring. e really had to adjust in the second half, but when we had to go out and make a play at the end of the game, we made it. That what wee been doing all through the playoffs.?

Though he doesn get as much credit as many NFL head coaches, McCarthy deserves it this time. He set a confident tone all week with his Packers, telling them that their wild-card road to the Super Bowl had prepared them for this moment. Green Bay would not fail to take advantage of this opportunity.

o disrespect to the Steelers,?said McCarthy, a Pittsburgh-area native. e respect their football team and the way they play. Theye a physical, tough football team, but we fully expected to win this game. It is our time. We talked about it since the first day. After the last meeting with the team, when we broke the meeting we said, his is our time ?Super Bowl XLV. It time to take the Vince Lombardi Trophy back home.?

McCarthy did more than just talk the talk, though. He told Packers general manager Ted Thompson a few days ago that he wanted his players sized for their Super Bowl rings. And the usually cautious Thompson surprisingly went along with it.

was OK with it,?Thompson said. f we hadn won it, they would have still gotten an NFC Championship ring. So they needed the ring size.?

There will be no second-place ring for these Packers. Once 3-3, they finished the season on an 11-3 run, winning what amounted to six elimination games in a row to sweep to the franchise fourth Super Bowl crown and league-record 13th NFL championship. And they did it the only way they knew how: With perseverance in the face of injury, and clutch contributions coming from stars and role players alike. From the first snap of the regular season, until Super Bowl Sunday, the Packers were challenged, but never denied.

but only the champions train smart my friend

You are probably wondering if you read the title line correctly or if I made a mistake, right? Did I say upper body strength for speed? Yes, I did. Did you know that studies have shown that about 20% of an athletes running power is attributed to his or her upper body strength. Thats right, 20%!

I want you to think back to the olympics to the track and field athletes that run the 100 meters. Now look at how those runners are built when compared to the distance runners. The sprinters almost look like bodybuilders. Upper body power does have a lot to do with running power. Now lets not forget about the other 80%, but for someone who may have some good legs underneath, but might be lacking in upper body strength this is valuable information. I will tell you that during my tenure at UGA I remember when the all American tight end Ben Watson set the bench press record at a whopping 570 lbs.! I was the guy with the clipboard that wrote down the number. That record still stands at Georgia. By the way Ben ran a 4.45 40 yard dash at the NFL combine. He also has a couple of Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots. Now obviously Ben has a lot of God given ability, but make no mistake his work ethic in the weight room was as impressive as his talent. If you are an athlete, have kids that are athletes, or you just like keeping the body sharp work on your upper body strength to enhance your sprinting power. When using your kettlebell lifts whole body movements are the best (like swings and snatches) followed up by movements that are more upper body oriented in nature (like overhead presses and renegade rows). The great thing is that you are constantly utilizing your big core muscle groups to pull these lifts off and that is what fuels your speed performance.

If you haven't been working on your upper body enough to improve on your speed then get started today. Feel free to access the rest of my articles on the subject for free if you are interested in learning about more upper body strength exercises to improve your speed. Remember that most any athlete can train hard, but only the champions train smart my friend!

With Shaq recently retiring the question still remains; "Who is the greatest center to ever play basketball in the NBA?" In the NBA's history there has been many great centers. By most critics the top four to ever play are Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, and Shaquille O'Neal. They are all great players and will all be inducted into the hall of fame. (most of them already are) Even to be mentioned in a list like this is a tremendous honor. But who is truly the best?

Bill Russell - He has 11 NBA championship rings, by far more than any other player on this list. In his career he averaged about 22.5 rpg (rebounds per game) and 15.1 ppg (points per game.) He was also the best shot blocker to live, but since it was not recorded as an official stat until 1973 we do not know exactly how many he had, but it is clearly higher than any other player in NBA history.

Wilt Chamberlain-Is by far the top scorer on this list. He averaged about 30 points per game. He also averaged 22.9 rebounds per game which is a little more than Bill Russel. He has won 2 NBA championships and 4 league MVPs. The highlight of his career was on March 2, 1962 he scored 100 points the most in a single game in NBA history. A lot of critics say that he is not the greatest center to play because he was a huge ball hog and took every shot that he could get his hands on.

Kareem Abdul-Jabar (Lew Alcindor) - Standing at seven foot two Kareem was a force on defense and offense in his career. With the most blocks recorded (3,189 blocks), most points scored all time (38,387 points), six NBA championship teams, six-time NBA MVP, two-time NBA Finals MVP, 19-time All-Star game appearances, and two-time scoring champ. This is a great resume to be the greatest center of all time.

Shaquille O'Neal- He was darted first overall in the 1992 NBA draft. He also won 4 NBA titles in his career which included 3 finals MVPs. He averaged nearly 24 points and 11 rebounds per game in his career. He won 1 NBA MVP award in the 1999-00 season. In his career Shaq had 15 all-star game appearances. Also he recorded 2.3 blocks per game which is the third most all time. Some critics would argue that if Shaq played in the era of these other great players he would have been the best. We will never have the answer for that though, so we have to look at what he has done. I love the game of basketball and you have to give all of these amazing players props for what they have accomplished. I think that Shaquillle is probably the most dominant center to ever play if you look at him on offense and defense, but do you think he's the best? but the intention of having it immortalized is a success.

A ring has many different symbols. They represent love, respect, honor and success. Below are some of the most common things people use rings for. They may be made from different materials but the symbolism stays the same.

People have school rings to signify their graduation from a particular batch. It isn too popular for middle school or high school students but is almost a tradition for every college graduate to have his own class ring. This can be made depending on the department or course they theye in, while it can also be a single key for a particular batch.

In sports, championship rings are also symbols of one successful campaign in a season. There is no real rule that requires athletes to have championship rings but they have been handed down through tradition as well. It is often seen that players with multiple championships are often in photo shoots with all their championship rings. It is a sign of elegance, class and, most importantly, success.

For most cultures, the love of a man to a woman is best expressed when he shows his intent to marry her. With this, the need for Houston engagement rings is set to play. Engagement rings are used to make a woman know of the intention of the man to marry her. For the woman, if she accepts, it is a display that she is already taken and on the verge of getting married. It tells other prospective males not to proceed with their advances.

Finally, when the time comes and the engaged couples get married, diamond rings Houston are now exchanged. They are worn on the ring finger on the left hand. This time, both man and woman wear a ring. This signifies their plans of staying together, using the ring as the reminder of what they have sworn. The ring symbolizes unending love and devotion that is meant to be shared by only the two people involved.

These are only some of the things that Houston jewelers clamor over. They are approached by people who are looking for rings to be used to symbolize a particular time in their lives. It may be a success story or a promise to be kept; but the intention of having it immortalized is a success.

you would have a hard time finding any many wearing a wedding band

Did you know that if you went back 125 years, you would have a hard time finding any many wearing a wedding band? In fact, it was even uncommon back then to find a woman wearing a special ring to signify her marital status. It wasn until the beginning of the Industrial Revolution that the wedding ring started to become fashionable, and even then they were nothing but plain gold or silver bands. So you can imagine how much longer it took for men designer rings to be introduced, but today they are one of the fastest growth areas in the jewelry industry. Men designer rings arose out of a man desire to show his social status, affiliate himself with a lan? or be recognized as having earned a certain badge, or honor. For many decades, men rings were treasured not because of their inherent beauty, but rather because they recognized a man achievement in life. Even today, evidence of this heritage lives on in the form of Super Bowl rings, college rings, Masonic rings and rings that bear the symbols of the U.S. Armed Forces. However, the men designer rings that are available today are not tied to any organization. Most are worn to do more than celebrate their marriage; they can also reflect a man personal taste or his station in life.

Ever since the end of World War II when economic policies promoted the growth of the American middle class, rings became more popular among men. And since then they have transitioned from a simple gold band to much more elaborate designs. And because men can be so much harder on rings than women, men designer rings are now available in durable metals like platinum, titanium, palladium, tungsten and stainless steel.

Looking at today collections of men designer rings, it is possible to purchase rings in every imaginable size and shape. The most popular styles have a beveled edge, engraved face, hand-woven texture, sandblasted finish or decorative milgrain edge, but there are dozens of other designs to choose from. Men designer rings are also made to be more comfortable than ever before. Some of the top designers offer a omfort Fit?style that has a curved inside edge. This helps the ring feel more natural on the finger so its comfortable enough to wear all day long.

Another thing that has changed over the years is the way men shop for rings. It used to be that if you wanted to buy a ring, you went to your local jeweler, but today men find that the selection of men designer rings on the Internet is much better, and so are the prices. Web sites that specialize in men rings enable customers to shop by metal, price, designer and style, so you can quickly zero in on the perfect ring.
